The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) was formed in 2015 through the unification of the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) and National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G) and represents over 2,000 members whose businesses operate in every aspect of the jewellery industry.

The association will lead, serve and represent the jewellery industry by promoting, protecting and providing for its members through offices in London and Birmingham, supported by both a strong internet presence and social media.

We offer targeted industry-leading professional development and training and inspire consumer confidence to purchase from our members through a Code of Practice setting the highest standards of professionalism, honesty and ethical business practices. Our Coat of Arms is a Mark of Quality that our members proudly display to build an enduring bond of trust with their consumers.

The NAJ is the largest trade association member within The British Allied Trades Federation (BATF), where the BJA has thrived for many years.

The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) is the largest buying group for independent retailers of watches and jewellery in the UK and Ireland. Formed in 1980, and now established for 35 years, our membership is made up of a varied mix of jewellery retailers, from quality, established family jewellers to some of the most dynamic and forward-thinking contemporary jewellers in the industry.

When a jeweller’s membership application to the CMJ is accepted, they have access to market-leading international jewellery and watch brands, meaning that the quality and breadth of their product offering is second to none.

When you visit a CMJ jeweller, you can be sure that you are buying from an expert in their field. A member of the CMJ is a retailer that you can trust. We believe it is our duty to ensure that the independent retail jeweller does not disappear from the high street. We believe that independence is vital, but collective strength can ensure a store’s survival. It is also our belief that as a group we can make an impact on each independent business and drive the success of our buying collective to make a real difference to the retail jewellery industry.

If supporting local business is important to you and you appreciate the quality of service you receive at an independent jewellery store, then a CMJ jeweller’s highly trained in-store specialists will help find the right item for you.
